Laser Aim for Tube Coping and Notching

Lasers? Yup, no joke. Every fabricator knows how hard it can be to make sure the tubes line up at the other end. It’s a simple matter to make one side of the tube fit nicely into the joint, but a challenging matter to make the other end fit nicely as well.

Laser holders for tube notching tools (Tracers)

How nice would it be if you could see where you were aiming when using the tracing tools? It would be real nice. And that’s exactly how we ended up adding a laser holder to our tracers. When you make the trace for one side of the tube and use the laser to aim at he exact opposite spot where the tube will also need to fit nicely, this ensures that the trace you make is the exact correct shape to fit the tube without gaps or misalignment at both ends. Simple and effective. The laser is the same size and can be moved from tool to tool. That way you only need to buy the laser once. The batteries are a bit of an issue. Because of how small the laser needs to be to fit our smallest tracer, the batteries ended up being small too. This means the batteries will only last about 10-15 minuets. We do send 10 extra batteries and it is recommended that as soon as you make the trace pull the laser out and turn it off. All the laser holders are 3D printed and can be made at home just like all the rest of our tools. 3D printing your own tools with lasers! Yup what a time to be alive.
